About this blog

When I was 10 years old I thought I’d grow up to be a journalist.  It didn’t happen for two reasons:

  1. I couldn’t spell worth sh*t in my first language.
  2. I can only spell certain words in my second language and I still do not agree with the use of “a” and “the”.

As a twenty-something year old I have changed my opinion on becoming a journalist.  It will not happen. On the other hand, I can have a blog! Like any other project it takes time and patience. This blog was born as an experiment into a marketing scheme for my own name. In 2009, as a student, I was looking for a job of my dreams and I used this blog as an e-portfolio. Since 2009 I have changed 3 jobs and now have the job I wanted (akhem… one from which my dreams can grow into a fruition). It is exactly why I have decided that I can now reuse my work blog and turn into a personal journey into my past, present and the future.  I have even changed its name from the boring ol’ blog about work to the refreshing, positive, and pushy “Cross the line”. We all need a bit of a push in order to do something new and unconventional.

The real reasons for keeping this blog:

• I’d like to share, in both words and pictures, the life of my city- Calgary.

• To write about my old home and my move to Canada from Almaty, Kazakhstan.
